Never Summer Proto Type Two Wide Snowboard 2019
The Never Summer Proto Type Two Wide Snowboard 2019 is this seasons must have All Mountain Twin. This board absolutely rips the hell out of pistes and kills it in the powder off piste.
The Proto has been around quite a few years and has been the mainstay of Never Summers range of boards. There’s a reason for that and we heard nothing but good things about it. So we went and tested the Type 2 for ourselves earlier this year back in January.
It was effortless in its turns in the fluffy stuff and doing a powder butter like a boss was a doddle, largeley due to the the twin shape, profile and great float.
Natural jumps and kickers came quite easy without the board folding under you like some softer freestyle boards often do.
The edge hold was incredible on piste and even for novice Euro carvers like us, they came pretty easy to get into. The 5500 Sintered base gave great glide on dry and slighly wet snow.
All in all, we all loved this board and it defintely lives up to the hype its gathered over the years.
The sizes we tested were the 155 wide,157, 160 and the 158 Wide. The 58 Wide suited big footed people like myself and one of the other testers however the 57 was still quite floaty for its size and width.
