If you edges are really rusty then this file will get through the rust back to good steel. The Milled file 100 x 25 mm suit base or side file guides 3208 should be used as a “first cut” file and then followed up with medium and fine files. Further polishing and honing with the diamond files will give your Ski or Snowboard edges a nice polished and honed finish.

Although you will get good results from using the coarse, medium and fine cut files you can achieve an even better finish, using a diamond file to further polish and hone the edges to help remove the minute striations left by the previous filing processes.

As with any Ski and Snowboard maintenance sharpening process, the more time put in will repay you with a much smoother feel and response in addition to rock solid edge engagement into the snow.

Ensure you de-burr edges with a gummi stone as any hanging burr will snag up and cause a rough ride and can cause the Ski or Snowboard to “squirrel” from side to side rather than give a smooth carve.
